CNOOC Tianjin Research and Design Institute
of Chemical Industry (abbreviated as CNOOC-TRICI, herein
after as 'TRICI' ) was founded in 1958. It covers more
than 120,000 square meters (equivalent to about 32 acres)
and possesses over 600 staff, among whom 70 percent are
technical engineers. TRICI used to be one of the key scientific
research institutes of the former Ministry of Chemical
Industry. After the entire reform in 1999, TRICI transformed
to be an enterprise from a public institution. In 2006,
TRICI joined the China National Offshore Oil Corporation
(CNOOC). At present, TRICI is a subsidiary company of
CNOOC integrating scientific research, production, engineering
design and consulting service.
TRICI was the earliest institute specializing
in inorganic chemicals, in which there are a series of
inorganic salts including barium, strontium, lithium,
zinc, chrome, manganese, calcium, fluorine, silicon, boron
and chlorates etc. TRICI has also developed and industrialized
the lithium hexafluorophosphate on its staff’s own effort.
Consequently, TRICI become the second country besides
Japan who have the ability to produce this product. In
recent 20 years, many products, such as barium fluoride,
lithium fluoride, strontium fluoride, zinc chloride and
low-sulfur barium carbonate etc., have been exported to
many countries and regions, including the United States,
Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea and so on.
With their high and stable quality, TRICI win tremendous
reputation. In addition, TRICI have also completed EPC
of chlorate and ployferric sulfate.
TRICI is also the first to start R&D
in industrial water treatment and application in China.
TRICI has successfully developed TS-series industrial
water treatment chemicals, and filled the blank of domestic
market. Right now, the production capacity of industrial
cooling water, oilfield water, boiler water and industrial
wastewater treatment chemicals can reach up to 25kt/a.
All of these are TRICI's own patents. Besides domestic
use, there are large quantities to be exported in each
year as well.
TRICI is also the first research institute
in the field of catalyst carriers. Catalyst carriers like
alumina, silica, multiple oxide and molecular sieve as
well as adsorbents and desiccants have been widely applied
in oil refining, petrochemical and relative fields.
TRICI will continue to do its best to
serve its customers with good quality products and advanced
technologies for the mutual benefit and development.
