Tianjin Research & Design Institute of Chemical Industry (abbreviated as ‘TRICI’) was founded in 1958. It covers more than 200,000 square meters in Tianjin. TRICI was formerly a comprehensive scientific research organization, directly under the Ministry of Chemical Industry of China. In 2001, it entered China National Chemical Construction Corporation (abbreviated as ‘CNCCC’) and became a corporation. Now it become a state-owned technology-oriented Corporation of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (abbreviated as ‘CNOOC’), after CNOOC merged CNCCC in July of 2006. TRICI mainly engages in development of inorganic chemicals, industrial water treatment chemicals and application technologies, catalysts and catalyst carriers, environment evaluation and environmental protection engineering and fine chemicals etc. The activities of TRICI include research, production, marketing, engineering design, lump-sum contracting, technical service and technical consultation etc..

 

TRICI was also one of the 100 scientific research institutes which were granted import and export authority in the first group by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of the People's Republic of China. Therefore, TRICI has experienced more than 20 years import and export businesses.

 

Under TRICI, there are professional research institute, design department, demonstration plant and three state-level high-tech industrialization demonstration bases (Rare-earth metal-based three-way catalyst for purification of auto-emission gas, new-type water treatment chemicals and lithium hexafluorophosphate for lithium-ion battery). Our research and service mainly face to the industries of inorganic chemical, industrial water treatment and catalyst and catalyst carrier. Furthermore, more than ten state level or industrial centers (stations) rely on or are affiliated to TRICI, such as the National Research Center of Industrial Water Treatment Engineering and Technology, the National Extension Center of Industrial Water Treatment Technology, National Quality Supervision and Test Center for Inorganic Salt Products, Specialized Unit for Standardization of Inorganic Chemicals, Supervision & Test Center of Ex-products of China Petroleum & Chemical Industry (PCEC)，Specialties Committee of Industrial Water Treatment of CIESC (Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China), Specialties Committee of Inorganic Acid, Alkali and Salts of CIESC, National General Information Station of Inorganic Salts, China Chemical Industry Productivity Center, Inorganic Salt Industry Branch and Technical and Engineering Centre of Inorganic Salts of Chemical Industry etc. Especially, the post-doctor research station, approved by the Ministry of Personnel, provide a larger platform for the high-calibre talented persons and high value-added research works. Additionally, two professional journals——Industrial Water Treatment and Inorganic Chemicals Industry published both in China and abroad, have been selected by Chemical Abstract (CA) as the core journals respectively.

 

In 2005, Tianjin Zheng Da Science and Technology Co., Ltd. was registered and founded in Tianjin Airport Industrial Park. Its business scope involves: the research, development, production and operation of water treatment chemicals, oil field chemicals, fine chemicals, catalyst and carrier technology, product, equipment and information; the technology development, consultation, transfer and service for chemical industry.
